A research publication (Burmese version) on ‘‘Security Sector Reform: Principles and International Case Studies, Thinking Ahead for Peace in Myanmar’, conducted by ENAC was launched today.
The research covers the definition and concepts of Security Sector Reform (SSR), how SSR is done in post-conflict countries and the roles of UN in SSR. The paper also described three international case studies – South Africa, Nepal and Burundi – in which how SSR has been negotiated and implemented is explored. Moreover, in order to be useful for the political negotiation in Myanmar Peace Process, the research laid out some policy recommendations.
The research paper (Burmese Version) is available at: SSR_ENAC_BURMESE_VERSION.PDF
The printed version of the paper can also be requested via ENAC Facebook Messenger.
