{"id":2770,"date":"2022-02-03T16:49:25","date_gmt":"2022-02-03T09:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.burmaenac.org\/?p=2770"},"modified":"2022-02-03T17:13:29","modified_gmt":"2022-02-03T10:13:29","slug":"vacancy-announcement-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.burmaenac.org\/?p=2770","title":{"rendered":"Vacancy Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Researcher (2 positions)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><strong>Date:<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Feb 01, 2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><li>Perform research activities including research design, literature reviews, field trips, data collection and analyses and paper writing<\/li><li>Conduct comprehensive research on relevant topics (e.g., security sector, minority rights and local governance) for political negotiations in Myanmar as a lead researcher<\/li><li>Write and publish policy papers, policy analyses and briefings on topics as assigned<\/li><li>Provide support to policy preparation and development process of peace actors<\/li><li>Act as a resource person or facilitator in relevant activities as assigned<\/li><li>Develop and foster good relationship with key stakeholders<\/li><li>Participate actively in regular research team meetings and other staff meetings<\/li><li>Collaborate with and support other staff as needed for a successful implementation of the research and other project activities to meet the project goal and work plan<\/li><li>Communicate with and report to Research Manager on a regular and timely basis<\/li><li>Travel to project locations as required<\/li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><li>Preferred Master degree or equivalent in politics, social science, security studies or other relevant fields<\/li><li>At least two years of policy research or relevant professional experience<\/li><li>Having published one or more research papers is preferred<\/li><li>Excellent contextual understanding of the current political situation in Myanmar<\/li><li>Solid knowledge of federalism and democracy and their key concepts<\/li><li>Demonstrable appreciation of diversity and peaceful co-existence in Myanmar<\/li><li>Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Burmese<\/li><li>Proficiency in one or more ethnic minority languages is preferred<\/li><li>Ability to work independently and proactively as well as under supervision of Research Manager<\/li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work at times against difficult deadlines<\/li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work well in a team<\/li><li>Ability to develop good relationship with various stakeholders<\/li><li>Demonstrated ability to comply with organizational policy, rules and work ethic<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><strong>Working Conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">The Researcher will primarily work from Chiang Mai, Thailand.
